Call for Executive Director

WiCyS Executive Director Position available

Women In CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization established in Tennessee created to reduce the gender gap in cybersecurity.  This announcement describes the position of WiCyS Executive Director (ED) that is currently available.

The Executive Director is responsible for the operation and the general management of WiCyS organization’s activities and services. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

A. Support the achievement of the organization's philosophy, mission, and its annual goals and objectives.

B. Work with the Board of Governors and staff to develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategic plans.

C. Prepare and, following Board approval, administer the Employer's annual budget.

D. Implement Employer's contracts as negotiated and approved by the Executive Committee.

E. Ensure existing organizational activities such as membership, chapter and affiliate programs and others as defined by the Board of Governors are implemented.

F. Help establish new organizational activities as defined by the Board of Governors within the approved budget.

G. Pursue and incorporate new revenue sources through a variety of fundraising mechanisms, consistent with the mission statement of the organization.

H. Maintain a close working relationship with industry sponsors and partners, academic thought leaders and the student and professional cybersecurity community.

I. Keep informed of trends, issues, events and developments within the cybersecurity field through professional peer contacts, conference attendance, training etc.

J. Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications: The successful applicant should have an academic degree at the baccalaureate level, have management experience -- both project and financial. Must have a proven track record of success as shown through responsibilities and accomplishments. Should be knowledgeable in the area of cybersecurity.

Desired qualifications (but not required) include having prior non-profit experience, and attendance at prior WiCyS conferences to appreciate the organizational culture.
