Session Description:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) coupled with Machine Learning (ML) has a tremendous potential to strengthen defenses, but the benefits of ML/AI in Cybersecurity must be contextualized against the risks it poses. The usage of ML/AI has increased exponentially but security and privacy governance and policies have not expanded at the same rate; creating a rather complex governance structure for Cybersecurity personnel to operate under. The goal of this presentation and the following discussion is to identify how we, as Cybersecurity professionals, can leverage ML/AI responsibly.

Meet the Presenter:

Shafia Zubair is Information Security Manager at Morningstar, where she is responsible for the Information Security program management and governance. Shafia has more than 16 years of experience in technology development and management. She is very passionate about Data Security and Consumer Privacy in the hyper connected world. Her delivery is anchored by a strong belief that resilient, secure, and available products are driven by a systems-based approach to security, privacy, organizational strategy and application design. Shafia is also the President of WiCyS Chicago Affiliate and volunteers as a coach/mentor for the FIRST robotics leagues.
