WiCyS Leadership Series: Creating Inclusive Workplaces and How to Show Up for Others Through Allyship

May 19 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Leading with equity, inclusion, and allyship is a conversation where we, as volunteer leaders within the WiCyS organization, agree to engage in a conversation from a place of consent for all of us to learn and grow. The WiCyS Leadership Series: Speak. Listen. Community. cultivates the community and space for that dialogue.

During the May session, we will be discussing creating inclusive workplaces and exactly how to show up for others through allyship. Join this session to learn Melinda Briana Epler’s seven steps for taking action as an ally to create a stronger, happier workplace. “The world’s systems, processes, and popular culture are out of balance, tipped in favor of some of us in the world—at the expense of the rest,” writes Epler. “This does not mean that we don’t all work hard to get where we are; it means that some people have to work much harder to succeed due to many barriers put before them. Allyship is understanding this imbalance in opportunity and working to correct it.”

Join us May 19 at 1pm CT as author, Melinda Briana Epler and WiCyS member, Jessica Robinson, facilitate the discussion. Upon registration, you will receive additional resources, taking a total of 15 minutes to prepare for the event.

If you are a WiCyS volunteer in a leadership role and have not received an invite from Lynn Dohm, email her at

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
