DESCRIPTION:Please join the WiCyS Neurodiversity Affiliate @ SANS Neurodiversity Summit on April 4th\, 2023. \nAs the cybersecurity talent shortage persists\, with an estimated 700\,000 unfilled jobs\, the industry needs to redouble its efforts to attract and retain workers. One meaningful way to accomplish this is by recognizing that jobs and workplaces can’t be “one size fits all.” As many as 20% of adults are neurodivergent\, and when we fail to account for the unique strengths\, experiences\, and challenges of neurodivergent cybersecurity professionals\, we miss opportunities to build the best teams. \nNeurodivergent (ND) people have brains that function in ways other than what is considered standard or “neurotypical” (NT). Examples of neurodivergence include but are not limited to autism\, ADHD\, dyslexia\, dyscalculia\, and synesthesia. These types of neurodivergence are not mutually exclusive\, meaning an individual might be on the autism spectrum and have ADHD\, for example. \nThis Summit\, backed by popular demand\, will be loaded with content developed by and for ND cybersecurity professionals\, but will also be invaluable to anyone who manages\, reports to\, works with\, or wants to support ND colleagues and friends. \nRegister HERE.
