SUMMARY:WiCyS SANS Executive Cybersecurity Exercise Program | Invite Only
DESCRIPTION:This 90-minute virtual SANS Executive Cyber Exercise on November 15th at 1 p.m. ET will put 24 WiCyS members inside a simulated cyber event to help their organization understand what it takes to respond to a cyber incident from a strategic perspective. The simulated exercise will emphasize the importance of a well-practiced cyber crisis plan and the leadership skills required to deal with today’s threats. SANS facilitators will use real-world experience and industry best practices to expose areas for improvement in their crisis response plans within a safe environment. Open to mid to senior-level managers (Deputy CISO/CISO/CIO/VPs) who have industry professional\, military\, veterans\, academic or nonprofit membership. \nKey Learnings\n \n\nAbility to better assess organizational readiness for a business response to a cyber crisis.\n\nApply industry best practices in cybersecurity\, organizational structure\, and crisis communications.\n\nUnderstand and plan for emerging trends in cybercrime.\n\n\nTo apply reach out to Lynn@wicys.org \n

DESCRIPTION:WiCyS members\, as a benefit of your membership\, we wish to invite you to an exclusive event! \nEmpowering Women in Cybersecurity series aims to enable women to grow into senior leadership roles in cybersecurity. This series\, a partnership between WiCyS Chicago Affiliate and the Chicago CISO of The Year (COTY) program\, will begin on November 15\, 2023\, at the Morningstar office at 22 W. Washington Street. \nThe November 15th kickoff event will cover “Securing Tomorrow: Insights from Women & Allies in Cybersecurity Leadership”. We have invited a number of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) who have built cyber teams over the years to speak about local efforts to impact the cybersecurity leadership of the future. The hour-long panel discussion will begin at 5:00 p.m.\, followed by dinner and networking. \nWe encourage WiCyS members to register AND to bring their mentors! We want to involve the cybersecurity leaders of the future in Chicago and only by partnering with the allies\, managers\, and mentors can we grow together.
