Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Since 2004, the President of the United States and Congress have declared October to be Cybersecurity Awareness Month.  The goal of this month is to help individuals protect themselves online as threats to technology and confidential data become more commonplace. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) lead a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise cybersecurity awareness nationally and internationally.

In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) has developed a toolkit to share with our community.  This toolkit includes free and effective tools that individuals can use to mobilize the community, raise cyber awareness and promote proper cyber hygiene to reduce cyber risk. In addition to the toolkit, WiCyS will be hosting two webinar series: Secure Yourself and Real Ethical Hacking Stories. WiCyS strategic partners will be providing information on maintaining personal security as well as sharing stories of how ethical hackers defend systems from malicious users.
