WiCyS Announces New Executive Director

It is with great pleasure that we announce the selection of Lynn Dohm as the new executive director of Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS). She officially begins her new role on October 1st 2019.

“Lynn has been part of the WiCyS tribe for years,” said Dr. Janell Straach, WiCyS board chair.“I am personally most excited about her inherent comprehension of what makes our nonprofit so outstanding. She is connected to the community we serve and the belief that together we will continue to support the recruitment, retention and advancement of women into this fantastically ever evolving and engaging field of cybersecurity.”

Lynn joins WiCyS from the Chicagoland area where, since 2012, she has been running a successful marketing company. Being a solution-oriented strategist, she has over 20 years of experience aligning businesses, nonprofits and grants with their initiatives and business outcomes. Lynn also comes with over 10 years of work within the cybersecurity education sector, having active roles in grant-funded programs and nonprofits that assist in providing educational solutions to the cybersecurity workforce.

“I’m so grateful for this honor to be joining the exceptional and hard-working WiCyS team as the executive director,” Lynn said. “The energy of women making such a commitment to themselves by joining the WiCyS community to enhance their cybersecurity careers and those of others is contagious. Together, WiCyS students, industry professionals and academia are expanding to have diversity as part of the equation in solving the cybersecurity workforce shortage. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it all.”

This leadership progression is just another milestone in WiCyS. Being a sisterhood characterized by continuous growth and enlightenment, we are thankful for our Board of Governors and their commitment to the growth of WiCyS. We also are grateful to the gracious WiCyS community for their support during this transition.
