Deputy Chief Information Security Officer Threat Management NYC Cyber Command
Quiessence Phillips joined New York City Cyber Command in October 2017 as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for Threat Management. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing the threat management and operations dedicated to countering and responding to cyber incidents citywide.
Prior to joining the City of New York, Quiessence spent ten years working within the financial services industry, most recently as the Vice President of Cyber Security Operations at Barclays, where she led the US Incident Response team for the company’s global Cyber Operations. She also held a variety of positions at the Federal Reserve of New York where she began her career in cybersecurity.
Quiessence is the co-founder of a non-profit EdTech, JOURNi, where they are building an authentically inclusive tech ecosystem in Detroit. In efforts to get more women into Cybersecurity, she started Securing Your Path - A community for women interested in forging their path in the industry. Quiessence is a mom, mentor, coder, hacker and strategist.
