Amazon’s “Together We Hack” with HackerOne and WiCyS

Join us for “Together We Hack,” an exciting Capture the Flag (CTF) challenge co-hosted by Amazon, HackerOne, and Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS). Open to both experienced professionals and cybersecurity enthusiasts, this event offers skill-building opportunities, industry networking, and career development through keynotes and engaging challenges.

The two-day event will be held in-person ONLY on October 20-21 at Amazon’s HQ2 in Arlington, Virginia. The challenge categories may include AI, web, pwn and networking. While participation is individual, collaboration is permitted.

The CTF platform will remain open for 48 hours!

Available to:

• 130 WiCyS members
• WiCyS Members committed to attending the CTF in person at the Arlington, VA location
• WiCyS Members with 2+ years of post graduate industry experience and are mid-level career

REQUIREMENTS:

• Attend the CTF event in person
• Bring a government issued identification to register at the event
• Bring a personal laptop to participate
• Be an active member of WiCyS with 2+ years of post graduate industry experience

Timeline:

September 26: Application opens
October 12: Application closes 11pm CT
October 13: Acceptance selections are made and commitment form emailed
October 14: Deadline for submission of commitment form by 9pm CT
October 15 – 16: CTF registration details, event address, digital badges emailed
October 20 – October 21: Amazon and HackerOne x WiCyS CTF competition event

WHAT TO EXPECT IF SELECTED FOR THIS EVENT:

• The CTF event is a 2 day event held on October 20 and October 21.
• WiCyS Founder Dr. Ambareen Siraj will have a keynote on October 20th to kickoff the event.
• The CTF event will take place at the Amazon’s HQ2 Arlington, VA.
• The CTF location will only be hosting 130 participants.
• Participants are responsible for their own travel.
• For the Arlington, VA location:
  • DAY 1 – doors open at 8:00 am EST and the event kicksoff at 9:00 am EST
  • DAY 2 – doors open at 8:00 am EST and the event kicksoff at 9:00 am EST
• Lunch will be provided by Amazon.
• The virtual CTF platform will be open for 48 hours.
• An award ceremony will be held at the end of Day 2 of the CTF.
• This year’s event will be more focused on networking. There is no guarantee for an on site interview due to time restrictions. A jobs link will be shared with participants to apply for available roles.
