Student Chapter Guidelines
We want our chapters to succeed. That’s why we outlined guidelines to help you and your peers make the most of your Student Chapter.
Gather together your school’s community of students in cybersecurity! Your efforts can help decrease the gender disparity in the field, while providing support, mentorship, training, networking opportunities and access to industry and academic leaders.
With WiCyS student chapters, you’ll undertake activities to promote recruitment, retention and advancement of women students in cybersecurity. At least one Chapter representative will be awarded a student scholarship to attend the WiCyS Annual Conference to share your Chapter’s experience. Through the annual WiCyS Chapter report, you’ll share information helpful to others about your activities.
Start your own WiCyS Student Chapter at your school or college!

5th Year Doctoral Student, Mississippi State University
“Being a part of WiCyS over the years has been very beneficial to me especially since I want to one day work in the Cyber Security field. Attending the WiCyS conference has given me insight into what Cyber Security professionals do on a day-to-day basis. Being involved in the WiCyS student organization at my University has given me a chance to hone my Cyber Security skills through CTFs and Cyber Security Activities. I have been fortunate to attend Cyber Security Talks hosted by the WiCyS Student Chapter which allowed me to ask questions, that I normally would not get to ask, of Cyber Security Professionals currently working in the field. Overall, I feel as though WiCyS is more than just an organization, but a community of like-minded individuals that wants to see everyone succeed in Cyber Security!”
