GRC Intensive Training Program

The WiCyS GRC program is a robust and intensive 14-week Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) training specifically designed by Mea Clift, GRC Expert and Program Instructor for early to mid-career women professionals in cybersecurity and related fields.

This 14-week course describes the fundamentals of Governance, Risk and Compliance. Using NIST Risk Management Framework, students are given a comprehensive education in the many facets of GRC.

By the end of this program, all students will master key GRC skills. Graduates will be able to write policies and control implementation statements. They will also identify, write and explain risks and their impacts. Finally, they will deliver a presentation explaining an organization’s security posture, utilizing the complete Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to illustrate the organization’s cybersecurity journey.

Available To:

  • WiCyS members who are early to mid-career level professionals only
  • U.S. and international members
  • Members willing to fully commit to the 14-week training in the virtual cohort setting (please note that more than 2 absences will constitute removal from the program)
  • Members ready to participate and engage with cameras on throughout the entire training

What You Get:

  • 14 weeks of comprehensive hands-on GRC training
  • 2 hours per week live instruction which include – 1 hour Mondays at 4pm CT – program lectures and 1 hour Thursdays at 4pm CT – Q&A sessions. (Please note there will be no recording available for the lectures and sessions)
  • Weekly handouts and homework materials will be distributed to participants 
  • Weekly GRC program curriculum and coursework details
  • Access to a community channel for discussions with fellow cohort members and the instructor
  • Access to Compyl, a SaaS GRC program to complete assignments and learn how a full assessment program works
  • Feedback on assignments and live feedback from cyber professionals on final presentations

Important to Know about Attendance Policy:

  • Participants are required to attend all sessions and present their final presentations on assigned dates.
  • Failure to attend 2 classes without communicating absence to the instuctor and program team will result in automatic dismissal from the program.
  • Participants must send an email to the Program Coordinator, Program Instructor and Program TA if they cannot attend class at least 48 hours in advance.
  • GRC Students should have their cameras on for all classes, unless permission is granted in advance for inability to be on camera.

Timeline:

January 7: Application opens

January 12: Launch webinar

January 26: Application closes

February 4 – 5: Acceptance notifications are sent along with commitment form

February 10: Deadline to submit the commitment form

February 17: WICyS sends GRC courses curriculum info, community channel invitation, digital badges, virtual kickoff meeting details

February 19: Kick-off webinar @ 1 pm CT

February 23 – June 25, 2026: Program Runs

General Certificate of Completion- Participants will receive this by June 30
