This opportunity is available to all WiCyS members to apply for scholarships to attend cybersecurity conferences such as RSAC, Grace Hopper and SACNAS.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

• Encourage participation of WiCyS members and increase cybersecurity learning opportunities through conference scholarships sponsored by Cisco
• Provide the power of community
• Retain WiCyS members already in the field and provide them learning opportunities to advance them in the field
• Build more WiCyS members in leadership roles to highlight on resumes, Linkedin, and speak to during interviews
• Empower WiCyS members to attend technical conferences through Cisco sponsored scholarships
• Open up the gateway for opportunity, join skill development training opportunities, internship program, and all of WiCyS offerings
• WiCyS members gain knowledge and skills not offered otherwise
• Provide WiCyS members the confidence, motivation and determination to remain in their academic cybersecurity studies and collectively advance because of their network, community, opportunity, and more
• Give a wrap-around experience that WiCyS members can speak to during interviews, gain employment from, and continue to advance in their careers because of it

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a WiCyS current member
• Includes submission of an essay for each application
• Recipient must agree to social media coverage if selected and can only receive one of the scholarships offered by Cisco
